Beginner Aerial Silks & Lyra – Saturday

Curious about aerial arts but not sure where to start? This beginner-friendly series is the perfect introduction to both aerial Silks and Lyra (aerial hoop)! Students will alternate apparatus each week, building skills on both silks and Lyra while developing strength, confidence, and body awareness.

On Lyra weeks, you’ll learn foundational skills including mounts, knee hangs, pull-overs, pull-ups, basic poses, and spins. On silks weeks, you’ll explore beginner climbs, foot locks, inversions, and the names and techniques of fundamental aerial movements. Throughout the series, we’ll also open with 10-12 minutes of conditioning, flexibility, and floor based exercises designed to build the strength and stability needed for success in the air.

No experience is necessary, absolute beginners are welcome! This class is designed for anyone who has never touched an aerial apparatus before, as well as those looking to build a strong foundation in both Silks and Lyra. Our supportive, encouraging environment makes learning aerial arts fun, safe, and accessible for all fitness levels.

  • Pro tip: Two classes per series is the sweet spot for building strength, flexibility, and aerial confidence.
  • Heads up: Coaches may have a substitute teacher from time to time.
