Gwenyth (Gwen) fell in love with the circus at age four. Although, it would take her another twelve years of artistic & rhythmic gymnastics, vocal performance, and competitive writing before she tucked under her first trapeze bar. Gwen’s training began in Portland, Oregon primarily at the DoJump! Extremely Physical Theater School and the Circus Project. During her time within these Northwest organizations, Gwen received training in Chinese pole, partner acrobatics, hand-balancing, contortion, aerial silks, aerial straps, and duo trapeze. Gwen is newly returned to the Portland area after nine months with Kansas City Aerial Arts as an instructor, performer, and choreographer for their Training Company. She is thrilled to be back in her native Northwest!
Gwen has been teaching movement-based art since 2013. Her teaching style emphasizes developing sustainable movement patterns, theatrical presentation, and independence in the air. When not training, Gwen can be found clambering up a mountain, nestled in a sea kayak, or making custom hand-balancing blocks.
Nudibranchs and Chitons are my most favorite animals (read: huge marine biology nerd!)
