This is a choreography class for teens who want to create an aerial act. The students in this class will be in our student showcase at the Alberta Rose Theatre on May 19th, 2024. Please send an email to afterglowpdx@gmail.com if you’d like to sign your teen up for this class and they haven’t taken it before. Pre-Reqs:
- Straddle up on each side 2x with out coming down to rest
- Do single/double foot knots & dancer foot wraps with ease
- Be able to do 2 consecutive, straight legged hip keys in the air (on each side)
- Climb silks 4 times without touching the ground (regular climbs)
- Knowledge of catchers, salto, & windmill wraps
- Have a solid Straddle Climb
- Comfortable w/ spotted Skin The Cats & Meat Hooks (on both sides)
- The ability to do Cross Back Straddle-back 3x in a row with straight legs
Drop ins are not permitted in this class.
Note: We strongly recommend students to take two classes per series. This will help you get stronger, more flexible, and more effectively reach your aerial and fitness goals.
Side note: Coaches may have substitute teachers for their classes.
